Ruhina's Family Bhaji Recipe

Yo, brunch enthusiasts! Here at Wayland’s, we're all about sharing the love, especially when it comes to good food. Chef Ruhina, with her culinary prowess and top-secret family recipe, whipped up these epic bhajis that made our taste buds dance. And guess what? They were such a hit that we've decided to spread the joy and give you guys the recipe!

  • White Onion 700g

  • Chopped Coriander 5g

  • Ground Turmeric 5g

  • Ground Cumin 5g

  • Curry Powder 3g

  • Crushed Chillies 2g

  • Table Salt 5g

  • Gram Flour 60g
    Tap Water 60ml

  • Finely slice 3 white onions and place in a mixing bowl.

  • Add the chopped coriander, spices, salt, Then add the gram flour and mix it well.

  • Add the water and mix until it forms a smooth batter around the onions.

  • Use your hands to make small golf ball sized balls of the batter and place gently into a saucepan pan with 2 inches of oil in. (Make sure the batter is fully submerged otherwise it will stick.)

  • Cook for roughly 4 - 5 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Remove using a metal utensil and place on kitchen roll to remove any excess oil
